Pakistan women's cricket players have expressed the need of their cricket matches whether domestic or international to be telecast live to promote the women's sports in the country.

Pakistan women's cricket team captain Sana Mir told APP, "We defeated Sri Lanka off the last ball and Ireland beat Netherlands by a single run in the Quadrangular T20 championship. If these matches were telecasted live, cricket fans would have found it interesting to watch women's cricket," she said.

Sana said that women's cricketers are no less than men as they won the first Asian Games gold medal held last year in China.

"It was due to our hard work and devotion to the game. Women's cricket over the years has transformed into a specialised sport, which requires full time commitment."

She said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was supporting women's cricket a lot and the central contracts show commitment of the board to promote the game in the country.

Sana, was the Player of the Tournament at the 2008 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier, and currently ranks 16th in the Reliance ICC Women's ODI bowlers rankings.
