Shabnim Ismail reprimanded after CWC22 semi-final defeat

Ismail was found to have breached Article 2.5 relating to the use of "language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”

The incident occurred on the final ball of the England innings after Ismail dismissed Sophie Ecclestone.

A demerit point is added to Ismail's record, a first offence for the quick in a 24-month period.

Ismail admitted to the offence handed down by GS Lakshmi of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, originally levelled by the team officiating the match.

A ban from international matches would only occur if Ismail incurred four or more demerit points within a 24-month period.

South Africa could only muster 156 in reply, with Ecclestone claiming 6/36 in the English rout.
