Shaniera Akram
Shaniera Akram is a passionate social worker and the wife of Pakistan cricket legend, Wasim Akram. Born in Melbourne but now based in Pakistan with her family, Shaniera is also a fierce social justice advocate. In 2019, Shaniera joined The Fed Hollows Foundation’s global campaign to end avoidable blindness, with a particular focus on her adopted country and on gender equity in eye health.
Shaniera is actively involved in The Akram Foundation, engaging in various kinds of social work, community service, philanthropy projects and charitable causes. Her work has included supporting the victims of the 2016 Lahore suicide bombing, collecting charity for hospitals, promoting health and fitness, raising environmental awareness, speaking about road safety, recycling and access to clean drinking water.
