Shreyas Iyer taken for scans during fourth Test match
After he complained of his discomfort after day three, Iyer did not walk to bat after the fall of Ravindra Jadeja's wicket early on day four, with KS Bharat instead sent out to go about India's reply to Australia's 480.
The BCCI confirmed Iyer's movement in the moments after Bharat took guard.
Iyer's back ruled him out of India's ODI series against New Zealand in January, complaining of a similar injury after a series against Sri Lanka. He was then sent to the BCCI's National Cricket Academy in Bangalore as precaution, before being cleared for the team's preparatory camp for the current Test series.
In Iyer's absence, India have press on in eating away at Australia's strong first innings lead, after Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green centuries earlier in the Test lifted the tourists to almost 500. In reply, Shubman Gill notched his second Test century in Saturday's play, with Virat Kohli approaching a 28th Test century early on day four.
