Soumya Sarkar makes history with List A double-century
Soumya, who was named in Bangladesh’s squad for this year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup last week, helped Abahani Limited chase down a target of 318 with nine wickets in hand. His 153-ball knock featured 14 fours and 16 sixes, as he shared a first-wicket stand of 312 with Jahurul Islam (100).

The victory saw Abahani Limited claim the Dhaka Premier League title, with Sarkar, who has three international centuries to his name, going past 100 for the second consecutive game – the left-hand batsman hit 106 against Legends of Rugpanj on Sunday.
Few have scaled the double-ton mark in coloured clothing, and the landmark has been reached only eight times in ODI cricket. The highest List A score of all time remains Ali Brown’s 150-ball 268 for Surrey against Glamorgan in 2002.
