South Africa star rises in rankings after hitting career-best rating
Wolvaardt has taken charge of South Africa Women in white-ball series against Pakistan and New Zealand, but the extra responsibility has not diminished her impact with the bat.
The 24-year-old smashed 53 and 24 in the final two T20Is against New Zealand to briefly hit a career-best rating of 712 points while the rain-affected series was tied 1-1.
Wolvaardt has dropped back to 710 rating points but still climbs one spot higher to fourth in the latest update to the T20I Batting Rankings.
The stylish right-hander has amassed 234 runs at an average of 46.8 and strike rate of 123.2 in five T20I innings since stepping up as interim captain for South Africa.

Amelia Kerr has jumped three spots to 14th following knocks of 70* and 61 against South Africa that also earned the New Zealand young gun the Player of the Series award.
Australia all-rounder Tahlia McGrath holds onto top spot in the T20I batting rankings with 794 rating points and remains 30 points ahead of teammate Beth Mooney in second.
South Africa spinner Nonkululek Mlaba could not catch England’s Sophie Ecclestone and claim the lead in the T20I Bowling Rankings during the clashes with New Zealand.
Mlaba remains in second spot after taking 0/17 and 0/23 in the T20Is and is now 27 rating points behind Ecclestone who has 765 rating points.
New Zealand veteran Lea Tahuhu made the most of her opportunity when taking 2/20 including the prized wickets of Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits in the fifth T20I.
The 33-year-old pacer has risen four spots to equal seventh in the T20I bowling rankings.
While South Africa Women were focused on the 20-over format, Marizanne Kapp has still snatched top spot from Ashleigh Gardner in the ODI All-rounder Rankings.
The Australia dynamo lost 14 ratings points and dropped one spot to second in the all-rounder rankings while having little to do in the recent ODIs against West Indies.
Gardner was not required to bat in the third of those ODIs, while Australia’s innings was washed out in the second clash. The off-spinner took 1/13 before that earlier match was abandoned.
Teammate Ellyse Perry was one of only four Australians called on to bat in the third ODI and blasted a rapid 29* to steer her side home with eight wickets and 207 balls to spare.
Perry climbs one spot to seventh in the ODI Batting Rankings, while England opener Natalie Sciver-Brunt is still No.1.
England spinner Ecclestone continues to dominate the white-ball standings and is also No.1 in the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s ODI Bowling Rankings.
