ABOUT SYDNEY SHOWGROUND STADIUM
Located just a five-minute stroll from Olympic Park train station, Sydney Showground Stadium is Western Sydney’s premier elite sport oval stadium and is used throughout the year by numerous sporting codes, including cricket, soccer and Australian Rules Football (AFL).
Sydney Showground Stadium is a 22,500-seat capacity multi-use venue within the Sydney Showground precinct at Sydney Olympic Park, home each year to the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Australia’s largest annual ticketed event.
It is the home stadium for the Sydney Thunder Big Bash League cricket franchise and for the Greater Western Sydney Giants AFL team and in 2015 and 2016 was recognised nationally through AFL customer satisfaction surveys for providing Australia’s most outstanding fan experience.

GETTING TO THE VENUE
Travel | Sydney Olympic Park is easily approached by road, with the M4, Victoria Road and Parramatta Road in close proximity. Use the map below to plan your route. |
Train | Olympic Park train station is on Sydney Showground's doorstep. The Sprint service, operated by CityRail, travels between Lidcombe and Olympic Park Stations daily, every 10 minutes. A limited number of direct services also operate between Central Station and Olympic Park Station in the afternoon on weekdays and for some major events. |
Bus | Sydney Buses operate direct bus services to Sydney Olympic Park from a number of locations including Lidcombe, Strathfield and Parramatta. |
Ferry | Sydney Ferries run a daily service between Circular Quay and Parramatta stopping at Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf. To travel to Sydney Showground, visitors must also catch a connecting bus. |

Car | With the opening of the M4 tunnel between Sydney Olympic Park/ Homebush to Haberfield is expected to slash up to 20 minutes off a trip from the Sydney CBD to Sydney Olympic Park. |
Parking | Sydney Olympic Park has over 10,000 parking spaces site-wide. Carparks P1, P5 and P6 are in close proximity to Sydney Showground. Costs: $5 per hour, up to a maximum fee of $25 per day. We recommend you pre-book parking if you plan to visit Sydney Showground on the day of a major event. Cost is $25 per car for the day. This cost is for one entry and exit into your selected car park. Specific conditions may apply for some events regarding the entry of musical instruments including drums); • Patrons are not to wear or otherwise display political or other offensive signage or logos; • Electrical cigarettes (e-cig or e-cigarettes), personal vapourisers, electronic nicotine delivery systems or other battery powered vapourisers are not permitted to be consumed anywhere in the Stadium other than in designated smoking areas only; • Commercial food (commercial food is any food purchased from external sources, including recognisable commercial food outlets or food provided by external caterers); • Other items as determined by the RAS that may cause injury or public nuisance.
