Eight Australian cities will host matches at the ICC World T20 2020.

The city was founded in 1835 and, following the discovery of gold in central Victoria, rapidly became one of the grandest world cities of the latter 19th Century. This legacy is visible throughout the city’s grand Victorian architecture, such as Parliament and the Royal Exhibition Building.

The heart of the city lines the banks of the Yarra River, where locals come to eat and drink after work. The river is popular with exercise enthusiasts for its waterside running and cycle paths, and the city’s sporting precincts and stadiums.

Buzzing inner-city laneways offer an eclectic collection of bars and cafés, galleries and boutiques. Another signature Melbourne experience is the rooftop bar culture – there are dozens perched on top of office buildings throughout the city, with spectacular views.

Recent years have seen creative street art culture take over city centre laneways with the blessing of local councils. The result has been a vast outdoor gallery of ever-changing street art of all scales, becoming a popular tourist attraction.

Spectacular natural experiences are easily accessed, offering opportunities to experience the authentic Australian way of life and encounter native wildlife such as koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, dolphins, whale watching, little penguins and platypus.
