Tamim Iqbal out of India tour due to 'personal reasons'
The right-handed batsman sent his withdrawal request to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) citing "personal reasons", a request the board have approved.
Tamim is one of Bangladesh's most experienced players, having been a key member of the team since making his international debut in 2007 aged just 17. In that time he has made a name for himself as a swashbuckling opening batsman in all three forms of the game. But his team will now have to do without him on what will be a testing tour to neighbouring India.
Bangladesh are due to play the first of three T20Is against India on Sunday 3 November, before a two-match Test series played as part of the ICC World Test Championship which starts on Thursday 14 November.
The BCB are yet to name Tamim's replacement in the squad.
