'The competition is what keeps you hungry' – Misbah-ul-Haq
The former Pakistan captain, who retired from international cricket in mid-2017, continues to show that age is no barrier.
He walked out to the crease with his team at 8/2 in chase of 125, and was witness to three more batsmen departing in quick time as Shaheen Afridi producing a brilliant opening spell.

He finally received support when captain Darren Sammy arrived at the crease. The experienced duo complemented each other very well as they stitched up a 100-run partnership to put the team within sight of victory.
However, when Sammy was dismissed by Riaz in the final over, the job still wasn't complete as Peshawar then needed five off four balls to complete victory. Riaz did well to hand Misbah the strike, and he ran hard for a couple before running one more after an overthrow. Riaz completed the chase with a single the next ball.
Misbah was the undisputed hero of the chase. He revealed that he had put in a lot of effort in lead up to the tournament to ensure that he could play a part as and when the opportunities arose.

“It is all about your passion and love for the game, and how long you have that hunger and how long you want that challenge,” said Misbah after the match.
“The competition, what is going on in the middle, is what keeps you hungry. Still, my passion for the game is there. I want to play, I want to enjoy, I want to perform.
“Obviously, I know there is a price for that. If you want to do that in the middle, you have to work hard. That is what I was doing in the previous three or four months, playing first-class cricket, and training, getting ready for this.”
