The Oval - London
Set just a stone’s throw from the River Thames, The Oval – home of Surrey County Cricket Club – was the scene for the first-ever Test match on English soil between England and Australia in 1880.
In recent times, the ground played host to a famous India victory over England in 2021, and the final Test of the 2019 Ashes series, where England beat Australia by 135 runs to level the series 2-2.

Please plan ahead so you can make the most out of your day at The Oval for the World Test Championship 2023 Final.
Allow enough time for your journey and get to the venue early, the surrounding area can get extremely busy near the start of the match.

WALK
The Oval is within walking distance from both Kennington and Vauxhall Park and is just over 15 minutes’ walk from the River Thames and the Thames Clipper St George Wharf Pier.
CYCLE
There a number of docking stations in the area surrounding the venue as well as some permanent bike racks.
The Oval is also well served in terms of London cycle infrastructure, with Cycle Superhighways 5 & 7 as well as Quietway 5 all providing convenient & safe routes within an easy ride to the ground. Cyclist-friendly Cycle Super Highways & Quietways provide protected space for cyclists along some of London’s busiest roads, (CSH) as well as routes through quieter backstreets (Quietways).

TRAIN
Vauxhall is the main rail station for the Oval, with good links to Waterloo and the Southwest. From the station it is a 10-minute walk to the ground.
A queueing system will be in place on the way back to the station. Please follow the signs and listen out for information from the stewards.

LONDON UNDERGROUND
The Oval is close to the centre of London and easy to reach by Tube, Train, Bus and Bike. See www.tfl.gov.uk for more information.
The underground is a popular way to get to the Oval with a network that reaches all of London (www.tfl.gov.uk). There are two stations a short walk away from the ground on the following lines:
Oval – 2 minutes (Northern line)
Vauxhall – 10 minutes (Victoria line)
A queueing system will be in place on the way back to the station. Please follow the signs and listen out for information from the stewards.
BUS
London Bus routes 36, 185 and 436 stop outside the ground and several other services have stops within a 5-minute walk of the venue. For more information on buses and the underground visit www.tfl.gov.uk. Please note, there may be temporary changes to some bus stops at peak times, in order to help with crowd movement.
PARKING
There is no spectator parking or coach parking around The Oval and spectators are advised to use public transport.
Please be aware that for major match days there are road closures in place on roads surrounding The Oval which may affect access to some side streets.

DROP OFF & PICK UP / TAXI, PRIVATE HIRE, UBER
There are no designated drop off and pick up areas for private vehicles or taxis. For Private Hire Vehicles including Uber, there is a designated pick up area located a short walk away from the Alec Stewart Gate.

The World Test Championship Final will have dedicated security team working on plans for a safe and secure tournament for all participants and spectators.
We are working with police to ensure the security provided at the tournament is of the highest order at the World Test Championship Final.
There will be enhanced security plans at all our host venues with visible security measures taking place, as well as other non-visible measures happening throughout the tournament, inside and outside the stadium.
