Trent Boult is all you need in the bowling department for ICC Dream 11 Classic Fantasy
ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019 might be a batsmen dominated tournament given the slew of high scoring games we have seen in England in the last couple of years. But that does not mean bowlers will have no role to play.
It is a key point for fantasy players who are lining up their team for the Classic mode of ICC Dream 11, a season-long contest that involves changing team after a cluster of games alone. The key players in your fantasy team hence have to be consistent performers and in the bowling department, few pack as big a punch as Boult.
The New Zealand left-arm seamer was the joint highest wicket-taker in the 2015 World Cup with 22 wickets in 9 matches. When given helpful conditions, Boult thrives. He is a natural wicket-taker and in fantasy terms, that adds immense value.
In terms of frequency of getting wickets, no fast bowler (minimum 75 wickets) beats Boult since the last World Cup. A strike rate of less than 28 shows his ability to take wickets frequently. In terms of ODIs, that is at least two wickets per game.
It's also worth bearing in mind that the Kiwi swing bowler loves bowling with the new ball and that the rain-fed pitches in England would support swing. Boult also takes wickets in clusters which makes him an ideal candidate for captaincy in certain rounds.
He has seven hauls of four or more wickets including a career best 7/34 in ODIs since the 2015 World Cup.
