Upstox Greatest XI – Your chance to pick your dream T20 World Cup team

You get to pick the best of the best from across eras – and that comes with tantalising possibilities. An opening combination featuring Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli, a dynamic pace-attack of Lasith Malinga and Dale Steyn, Yuvraj Singh lording it with AB de Villiers in the middle of the order – the potential is immense.

That said, it’s not a case of simply slotting in your favourite players – the team combination will need to be ideal, and there are restrictions to keep in mind: You have to pick a minimum of four batters, three bowlers, an all-rounder and a wicket-keeper.

And that means you'll need to figure out the sort of team you want to field. Will your side be filled with big-hitters? Is there room for an anchor at the top? How many pacers will you pick? Who will captain the side? All questions that will prompt plenty of debate.

As ever, the struggle will be fitting all the world-beaters into a well-balanced XI. If it’s of any comfort, we asked Glenn Maxwell and Kieron Pollard to pick their five greatest T20 players, and their struggle was real.
