Venues swapped for second and third India-South Africa Tests
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier scheduled the second Test in Ranchi from October 10 to 14, while the third was to be from October 19 to 23 in Pune. However, with the second Test clashing with the dates for a major Indian festival, the Jharkhand State Cricket Association had reportedly requested the board to make the change.
According to reports, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) accepted the state board's request, swapping the venues of the last two Tests.
“Durga Puja is a big festival in this part of the country, so we had written to the Board requesting them to shift the Test. We are glad that the CoA granted us the third Test,” a JSCA official told Sportstar.
India will host South Africa for three Twenty20 Internationals followed by as many Tests between 15 September and 23 October.
