West Indies all-rounder the big winner on latest rankings update

Big gains for a West Indies all-rounder on the latest rankings update, while a trio of bowlers from Bangladesh also make some ground.

Experienced West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin is the big winner following the latest update of the ICC Women's T20I Player Rankings.

Dottin only returned to international cricket for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in 2024 following a brief retirement period of just over two years and the 33-year-old is already creeping up all three rankings categories in the shortest format.

The West Indies star makes her latest gains on the rankings on the back of a Player of the Series performance during her team's three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, a series that the Caribbean side dominated to pick up a 3-0 clean sweep.

Dottin scored a series-best 110 runs across the three matches and rises a whopping 26 places on the latest T20I rankings for a batters as result to sit just outside the top 10 in equal 11th place in a category that is still led by Australian stalwart Beth Mooney.

Fellow West Indies player Qiana Joseph is also a big mover up the list for T20I batters, with the left-hander jumping 27 spots to 29th overall following her 92 runs from two innings against Bangladesh.

Dottin is actually inside the top 10 in the category for T20I all-rounders, with her latest efforts against Bangladesh boosting her up 11 spots to ninth overall in the list that is headed by Hayley Matthews.

Experienced West Indies teammate Afy Fletcher gains two places to move to 23rd overall on the list for T20I all-rounders, while the 37-year-old is among the biggest movers on the latest list for T20I bowlers.

The spinner managed four wickets across the three matches against Bangladesh to jump two places to 12th overall on the T20I rankings for bowlers, while a trio of players from the Asian side also made ground on this list.

Spinner Rabeya improved four spots to 14th following her three wickets for the series, while Fahima Khatun (up six rungs to 35th) and Sultana Khatun (up 20 places to 74th) also gained ground on a category that is still being led by England tweaker Sophie Ecclestone.
