West Indies announce squad for T20Is against Australia
Stafanie Taylor will lead the squad that is unchanged from the one selected for the third and final home ODI against Australia. The visitors triumphed by eight wickets in the final ODI to seal a series whitewash, but it appears that a few West Indies players did make a strong impression in the series.
A statement from Cricket West Indies on the announcement of the T20I squad added that "young debutants Shabika Gajnabi and Sheneta Grimmond impressed selectors and spectators alike with their fearless approach to the Aussies", the pair putting on 59 for the seventh wicket in the second ODI. Grimmond also impressed in the next match, striking 34 from just 24 balls at No. 8.
The third ODI saw Britney Cooper come into the side after Kycia Knight suffered a back injury in the series opener, and she keeps her place in the squad for the T20Is. All three T20Is will be held at Kensington Oval, on 14, 16 and 18 September.
The series will be West Indies' first T20I assignment since their 1-0 series defeat to England in June.
