Yuvraj Singh has been recalled to India's limited-overs squad for the series against Australia that starts on October 10. A 15-man squad, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, was named for the lone Twenty20 International in Rajkot and for the first three One-Day Internationals.

This squad also included Jaydev Unadkat, who impressed in the ODI series against Zimbabwe in July-August. Murali Vijay, who last played for the senior side in the tri-series in West Indies in July, was left out.

Dinesh Karthik also missed out, having played against Zimbabwe, while Mohammad Shami and Ambati Rayudu retained their spots following consistent performances in the Caribbean and in Zimbabwe.

Although Yuvraj made a return to international cricket in September 2012 after recovering from cancer, below-par performances led to him being dropped. Following fitness work in France in July-August, Yuvraj impressed the selectors as the leading run-scorer in India A’s one-day series against West Indies A. He made 224 runs from three matches with a strike rate of 108.73, including a rapid 123 in the first game. More recently, he led India Blue to the NKP Salve Trophy, and scored 113 runs in two matches.

Squad: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Vinay Kumar, Amit Mishra, Ambati Rayudu, Mohammed Shami, Jaydev Unadkat.
