England slot explosive batter in Champions Trophy squad to address Bethell injury
Tom Banton, who replaced Bethell in the ongoing ODI series in India, will also feature in the much-awaited tournament starting February 19.
England have named Tom Banton as the replacement in the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 squad for Jacob Bethell, who was ruled out owing to a left hamstring injury.
Bethell, who was part of England’s squad for the ongoing ODI series against India, had scored an impressive half-century in the series opener.
Banton on the other hand, has been rewarded for his recent outings with the bat in the current International League T20 season in the UAE.

The 26-year-old has amassed 493 runs from 11 innings at an average of 54.77, which includes two centuries, and is the leading run-scorer in the competition.
Banton made his ODI debut for England back in 2020 and has scored 134 runs from six appearances.
