400 days to go until ICC Cricket World Cup 2019
Today marks 400 days to go until the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and Wales. To mark the milestone, we look back at each of the four occasions a side has scored 400-plus runs at the tournament.
Of the four scores of over 400, three were recorded in the space of a week at the 2015 edition.
1. Australia 417/6 v Afghanistan4 March 2015
Australia showed their credentials as eventual World Cup champions when they posted a tournament-record 417/6 against Afghanistan at the 2015 edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup.
David Warner (178), Steve Smith (95) and Glenn Maxwell (88 from just 39 balls) all hit big scores as Australia posted the highest score in World Cup history, finishing their 50-over innings with a staggering run rate of 8.34.

They were supported by a brilliant bowling attack with Mitchell Starc taking 2/18 and Mitchell Johnson claiming a four-wicket haul as they bowled Afghanistan out for 142 in 37.3 overs.
2. India 413/5 v Bermuda19 March 2007
Coming off the back of a defeat versus Sri Lanka, Bermuda came up against another difficult opponent as they faced an in-form India team boasting the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly in their ranks.
The Bermudans made a strong start by dismissing opener Robin Uthappa for 3, with Dwayne Leverock famously claiming a sensational catch in the slips.
However, they soon realised the extent of their task as Sehwag and Ganguly hit five sixes and 23 fours between them to record scores of 114 and 89 respectively.
With world-class talent throughout the line-up, India made light work of their time in the middle as they made 413/5 – the first time the 400-barrier had been breached at the men's World Cup.
3. South Africa 411/4 v Ireland3 March 2015
Following on from their demolition of West Indies, South Africa put in an equally remarkable performance against Ireland in Canberra.
Hashim Amla, 159 vs Ireland
Hashim Amla (159 off 128 balls, including 16 fours and four sixes) and Faf du Plessis (109) took centre-stage this time, both scoring centuries as they led the charge for South Africa to finish on 411/4.
They were assisted by quick-fire knocks from David Miller (46 from 23 balls) and Rilee Rossouw (61 off 30) as the Proteas scored over 400 at the World Cup for a second time in just five days.
4. South Africa 408/5 v West Indies27 February 2015
South Africa swept aside the West Indies in the group stage at the 2015 World Cup as they posted a hugely impressive 408/5 off 50 overs.
Player of the Match – AB de Villiers
With the Proteas electing to bat first they were able to rely on a plethora of batting talent as AB de Villiers, who hit 17 fours and eight sixes, went on to score an unbelievable 162* off just 66 balls; the fastest 150 in ODI history.
He wasn’t the only batsman to post an impressive score as Hashim Amla (65), Faf Du Plessis (62) and Rilee Rossouw (61) all scored half-centuries.
