Opportunities for new heroes as Netherlands, USA reveal squads for League 2 tri-series
The three squads have been confirmed for the next tri-series in Cricket World Cup League 2 action between the Netherlands, USA and Canada.
A host of big names will miss action as the Netherlands and USA name their squad for this month's ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series against Canada.
The Netherlands will be without a group of their players that featured at the recent ICC Men's T20 World Cup in the USA and Caribbean, with the likes of Teja Nidamanuru, Bas de Leede, Logan van Beek, Tim Pringle and Fred Klaassen all missing the tri-series on home soil that runs from 11-21 August.
Veteran all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe and key batter Colin Ackermann once again are absent for Scott Edwards' side, while there are recalls for brothers Musa and Shariz Ahmad.
The USA will also be without a trio of their best performers from the T20 World Cup, with Saurabh Netravalkar and Andries Gous missing the tri-series due to parental leave and veteran all-rounder Corey Anderson another notable absentee.
Canada named their squad last month, with hard-hitting batter Nicholas Kirton announced as the new skipper after Saad Bin Zafar led the side at the T20 World Cup. Long-term coach Pubudu Dassanayake has also departed.
All three teams at the tri-series featured at June's T20 World Cup and will be looking to build on their efforts at that event as they attempt to qualify for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2027.
The tri-series commences in Voorburg on 11 August when the Netherlands take on Canada, with a total of six ODIs to be played between the three teams across the 11 days.
