Harmanpreet, Renuka rested as India name strong ODI unit against Ireland
India will be playing their final three ODIs of the current ICC Women’s Championship cycle, aiming to finish above England, with Australia crowned champions already.
The Women’s Selection Committee has unveiled India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against Ireland.
The three-match series is set to take place at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, with Smriti Mandhana leading the side in the absence of regular all-format skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who has been rested to manage workload. Deepti Sharma will act as Mandhana's deputy.
Mandhana will be looking to continue her impressive run of form, after her string of good performances against the West Indies in both T20Is and the ODIs last month.
Harleen Deol, who made a mark with her maiden ODI hundred against West Indies, will also be looking to carry her form with the bat.
Another major name missing from the squad is that of pace spearhead Renuka Singh Thakur, who has also been rested.
An all-round performance by Deepti Sharma in the third match has helped India clinch the ODI series 3-0 👏#INDvWI 📝: https://t.co/u81oRDTNCd pic.twitter.com/dfMZA3mzoZ
