West Indies name squad for final ICC Women’s Championship series against Bangladesh

The hosts have made two changes to the squad that featured on the recent tour of India.

Cherry-Ann Fraser has been recalled by the West Indies Women for the ODI and T20I series against Bangladesh, while Jannillea Glasgow has received a maiden ODI call-up.

The all-rounder and the uncapped pacer have been slotted in place of Shamilia Connell and Rashada Williams, who were both part of the squad on the recent tour of India.

The Windies go into their final assignment of the 2022-25 Women’s Championship cycle on the back of a 3-0 series loss to India, which dashed their hopes of an automatic qualification to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Head coach Shane Deitz believes the series against Bangladesh couldn’t have come at a better time.

"Bangladesh's visit comes at an ideal time in our preparation cycle," he said.

"They're a skilled unit that has shown impressive growth, and this series gives us an excellent opportunity to examine our squad depth and continue to implement our aggressive, flamboyant brand of West Indian cricket.

"We have been focusing on specific areas of improvement in our training and touring, and these matches will help us gauge our progress.

"The conditions at Warner Park will challenge both teams and make for compelling cricket. I'm looking forward to seeing how some of our younger and less-experienced players respond to the test."

Bangladesh have all to play for in the upcoming series and can still make it to this year’s Cricket World Cup if they win two of their remaining three games.
