Shubman Gill to lead India's T20I tour of Zimbabwe

India have announced a 15-player squad for the five match T20I series against Zimbabwe, starting 6 July.

Shubman Gill will lead a new-look India side for the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe in early July following the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

The squad features just two players from the main squad for the T20 World Cup: Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson.

The likes of Gill, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed who are reserves in the T20 World Cup touring party, also make the squad.

Highlights of Shubman Gill's 92. The batter showed good form in Mumbai with a knock that included 11 fours and two sixes.

Aside from the familiar international names, there are also maiden call-ups for Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy, Riyan Parag and Tushar Deshpande, all of whom had impressive IPL 2024 seasons.

The squad has two spin options in Ravi Bishnoi and Washington Sundar with the likes of Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma as part-time options.

Avesh, Deshpande, Mukesh Kumar and Khaleel lead a strong pace attack. Nitish Reddy, whose impressive season with Sunrisers Hyderabad, turned heads is another pace-bowling all-rounder who has been fast-tracked.

Sanju Samson, who is yet to play a game in the T20 World Cup, will fight it out with Dhruv Jurel for a place in the starting XI.
