Hosts Pakistan unveil ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifiers squad 

Led by Fatima Sana, Pakistan will be eyeing to make the cut for the marquee tournament later this year in India. 

Pakistan named their 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifier.

Hosting the six-team tournament between April 9-19, Pakistan are among the six nations vying for the remaining two spots at the 13th edition of the 50-over World Cup later this year.

Bowling all-rounder Nida Dar is a major name missing in the squad, having been among the 19 players who were called to the training camp ahead of the qualifier tournament.

Pace all-rounder Fatima Sana, who led Pakistan at last year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will continue to lead the side. Youngster Shawaal Zulfiqar returns to the national side for the first time since 2023, after missing out on cricket due to a shoulder injury.

The six-team qualifier tournament - featuring West Indies, Thailand, Scotland, Ireland, and Bangladesh other than the hosts - will be contested in a round-robin format. Each team will play against the other once and the top two teams will eventually qualify for the Cricket World Cup in India.
