The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifier is set to begin on 9 April in Pakistan with six teams battling it out for the last two spots at this year's 50-over showcase.

The 13th edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup is upon us with six teams locked in and two spots yet to be confirmed through the Qualifier.

The Qualifier tournament will take place in Pakistan from 9 April, featuring six teams and will finalise the remaining teams for the eight-side tournament later this year in India.

Teams

Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, Thailand

Venues

The two venues selected for the Qualifier are the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore (GSL) and the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground (LCCA).

Gaddafi Stadium was one of the three venues which staged the recently concluded ICC Men’s Champions Trophy, hosting four matches including the semi-final between South Africa and New Zealand.

LCCA will host international women’s cricket for the first time.

Qualification

The bottom four finishing sides from the 2022-2025 ICC Women’s Championship - Bangladesh, West Indies, Pakistan and Ireland - have a second shot at making it to the Women's Cricket World Cup.

Also joining them in the Qualifier tournament, Scotland and Thailand won their place based on being the next best-ranked teams in the ICC Women’s ODI Team Rankings.

The six teams will all play each other in a round-robin format, with a win earning two points.

The top two sides will secure their spot at the upcoming Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Key Dates

The Qualifier will commence on 9 April in Lahore with hosts Pakistan taking on Ireland in the opening fixture.

Winners of the previous edition of the Qualifier tournament, West Indies are set to begin their campaign against Scotland on the same day.

Thailand will be looking to make their mark, hoping to secure maiden qualification for the Women’s Cricket World Cup. They will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on 10 April.

The last game of the qualifiers will take place on 19 April in Lahore, where West Indies will face off against Thailand.
