Matchwise schedule of ICC Match Officials for Women’s T20 World Cup announced
Ten umpires and three match referees will be a part of the all-female match officials panel for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.
Claire Polosak and Lauren Agenbag have been appointed as the on-field umpires for the opening match of the Women’s T20 World Cup, where Bangladesh will face Scotland on 3 October.
Sue Redfern has been assigned as the TV umpire for the opening game, with GS Lakshmi taking on the role of match referee. The tournament’s opening day will feature a double-header, with Kim Cotton and Eloise Sheridan overseeing the second clash of the day between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Sheridan and Agenbag will team up for the much-anticipated showdown between India and Pakistan in Dubai on 6 October. A day earlier, Redfern and Anna Harris will serve as the on-field umpires when Australia begin their title defence against Sri Lanka on 5 October. Redfern will return to the field alongside Vrinda Rathi for Australia’s next game, as they face their Trans-Tasman rivals, New Zealand, on 9 October.
In a thrilling double-header on 13 October, Agenbag and Polosak will officiate the neighborhood clash between Scotland and England. Later that day, Cotton and Redfern will oversee the high-stakes match between India and Australia at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Match official appointments for the two semi-finals and final are yet to be confirmed.
