Day 2 live: India claim three morning wickets as Brisbane weather holds
Jasprit Bumrah and Nitish Kumar Reddy has repaid Rohit Sharma's bowl-first faith in Brisbane, dismissing three Australian batters in an eventful second morning in Brisbane.
An early double salvo and the dismissal of Marnus Labuschagne have helped India keep Australia in check early on the second day of the third Border-Gavaskar Test in Brisbane.
At lunch, Australia walk off at 104/3.
Travis Head will continue Australia's innings with Steve Smith after the break, after the departures of Usman Khawaja (21), Nathan McSweeney (9) and Labuschagne (12) in the opening session.
Khawaja fell after a thin outside edge to wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant off the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah, who then claimed fellow opener Nathan McSweeney, with his outside edge falling into the hands of Virat Kohli.
Both batters fell in the extra scheduled time added to the morning session to make up for a rain-marred Saturday, before Labuschagne's dismissal closer to lunch, also edging to Virat Kohli, though off the bowling of Nitish Kumar Reddy.
After losing the toss and being put in to bat on Saturday, Australia moved to 28/0 before weather forced day one's abandonment, though early thoughts of Australia pressing on during early Sunday play were quelled by canny India fast bowling.
After struggling to find an ideal line on day one, Akash Deep asked more questions of his opposition, helping Bumrah in pressure-building morning.
Mohammed Siraj too posed challenges for Australia's batters, though there are concerns for the quick, who limped off with a hamstring injury early in his 11th over.
Siraj has since returned to the field, though is yet to be deployed with ball in hand.
While the Sunday weather forecast is happier reading, rain is again predicted to come in bands over the course of the day.
