England finalise playing XI for second West Indies Test
James Anderson's replacement is named as England make just one change to their side for the Trent Bridge contest.
England have confirmed their XI for the second ICC World Test Championship match against West Indies starting in Nottingham on Thursday.
The hosts make one change to the side that defeated the West Indies by an innings and 114 runs in the opening Test at Lord's, with fast bowler Mark Wood coming into the XI to replace recently-retired pacer James Anderson.
Wood took three wickets from five appearances for England at last month's ICC Men's T20 World Cup and returns to the international fold for his first Test match since finishing wicket-less in his side's disappointing loss to India in the fifth and final match of their series in Dharamsala in March.
The right-armer will join fellow quicks Gus Atkinson and Chris Woakes as pace options to face the West Indies, with inexperienced spinner Shoaib Bashir likely to receive support from the likes of Joe Root during the Trent Bridge contest.
England lead the three-match series 1-0 following their triumph in London and will look to clinch the series and move off the bottom of the World Test Championship table with a victory in Nottingham.
England XI: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (c), Jamie Smith (wk), Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Mark Wood, Shoaib Bashir
